87, for example, is not a good number for an anniversary, but somewhere some round number always pops up that you take as an occasion to say: look, that's us! Krefeld is 650 today, Höxter 1200, Picasso has been dead for 50 years, next year designkrefeld will be 120, Beckum will be 800 and I will be 60. And so on ... Never mind! Or not? And if, so if not; how do you do that, how do you design an event, how do you remember, reflect, how and why do you celebrate and do justice to all, the cause, the place, the demands, fears, possibilities and proprieties? After all, one is putting one's identity on the line now more than ever!

It's great that Claire Neidhardt, marketing manager of the city of Krefeld, is coming to DD 87 and can explain to us her view and approach to the city anniversary in Krefeld, to which, by the way, designkrefeld is making a big contribution with Urbanorama, the festival for poetic city moments (www.urbanorama-festival.de).
