EWP 04 Specialised seminar in nutrition research (3 CP optional module)

In English again this semester! (Summer semester in English, winter semester in German)

Semester: from 5th semester onwards

Content: Various types of literature are analysed and evaluated using the evidence pyramid.

Current issues are categorised and answered using scientifically sound sources.

Form of examination: oral examination

My motivation to teach education is based on my enthusiasm for the diversity and complexity of nutritional science and the associated need to pass this enthusiasm on to others.

The process of learning as such can only take place through the students themselves. However, in my role as a lecturer, I can support students by arousing their curiosity for the subject and imparting knowledge in a way that increases their interest in the exciting and diverse field of nutritional science, thus encouraging initiative and a long-term interest in evidence-based procedures and scientific discourse.

In courses, it is important to me that students learn about both theoretical approaches and their practical implementation.

Research Group

Once a month, all Master's research project and final-year students come together for a joint research group meeting.
This is a space to openly share ideas and challenges, present your own project results and support each other in their academic work.

Semester Projects

Semester projects are regularly offered in the area of nutritional status.
These currently comprise two specialisations: the testing of new methods for surveying nutritional status and the development of a database of existing survey procedures.

LZP "Nutritional Science and Digital"

Long-Term Project (Bachelor)

In the LZP in Nutritional Science and Digital Studies, the group itself designs what is worked on - the participants decide together on the specialisations.

This includes testing apps, conducting online surveys and developing digital formats such as Moodle courses or podcasts.

Current topics:

  • Food waste
  • Social media and mental health
  • Gut and mental health
  • Digital marketing of supplements
  • Chronic diseases: how can I inform myself & connect
