As part of the seminar "Thinking education inclusively" (deputy professor Dr Raphael Bak), seventeen students from the Early Childhood Education degree programme visited an exhibition on sexuality, body images and gender roles on 24 April 2026. In ten themed rooms, the exhibition covers a wide range of topics: from changes in sexual morality since the 1960s, power and violence - for example in the context of #MeToo - to digital identities and avatars with freely selectable gender.
The exhibition shows how diverse and complex society and politics are when it comes to negotiating bodies and sexuality. The students engaged creatively with the content and developed their own approaches - particularly with a view to inclusive education.
The exhibition addressed key questions in Early Childhood Education: What knowledge do we teach children about sexuality, body images and relationships? What role do educational specialists play when it comes to body awareness and setting boundaries? The visit thus provided impetus for linking social discourse and Early Childhood Education practice.
