The Hochschule Niederrhein has once again been certified as a family-friendly university. The board of trustees of berufundfamilie Service GmbH, which decides on certification, has now delivered the pleasing news. This is the second time The Hochschule Niederrhein has secured the certificate with distinction, with special recognition for many years of sustainable design of family-friendly working and studying conditions. The family-friendly university audit certificate is a seal of quality for a strategically designed compatibility policy.

The Hochschule Niederrhein had previously successfully completed the dialog procedure for the audit, which is open to employers who have been pursuing a strategically designed family- and life-phase-conscious HR policy for at least nine years with the audit. The Hochschule Niederrhein was first awarded the audit certificate in 2010. After three re-audits, the second dialog procedure followed. This was conducted by the university's own Office for Equal Opportunity.

The aim of the dialog procedure is to maintain the high level of development of the family- and life-phase-conscious personnel policy and to use the optimization potential in individual selected areas. The Hochschule Niederrhein must undergo another dialog procedure in three years to ensure the quality of the certificate.

The Hochschule Niederrhein's current measures to reconcile work, family and private life include flexible working hours and location as well as family-friendly study and committee times and a counseling navigator. Work is now underway to strengthen communication of the family-friendly university, increase the quality of stay at the campuses, and expand personnel development for university employees.
