How can a children's sleeping bag be produced sustainably without losing sight of functionality or cost-effectiveness? This was the question addressed by Project Team 4: In cooperation with Schlummersack GmbH, a provider of high-quality sleeping bags with legs for children, the students developed a sustainable sleeping bag prototype, from material selection and digital pattern construction to the realisation of a physical product.
The project focussed on alternatives to traditional polyester fillings, sustainable product and shipping packaging, as well as the design of a possible closed-loop model for the sleeping bags.
The team not only developed a sleeping bag with an alternative and sustainable filling, but also new product packaging, a plastic-free shipping solution and a possible circular economy model.
