As part of the [Re]value project, Team 9 developed re:form, an independent interior design brand that translates regional hemp and wool fibres into contemporary, sustainable home products. The aim was to combine material innovation, design quality and real-life applicability in a holistic brand concept.
The interdisciplinary team worked along the entire value chain, from production to marketing and design development through to experimental 3D prototyping. In terms of methodology, the focus was on
Trial & Error, material-based exploration and close coordination between design, production and communication. The result was a handmade sample couch, a luminaire, eight 3D prototypes for other interior applications and a consistent brand identity. The work shows how sustainable materials can be used in an aesthetic, functional and marketable way.
The [Re]value project is being carried out as part of the Interreg VI A programme Germany-Nederland and is co-financed by the European Union, MWIKE NRW, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZ) and the provinces of Limburg, Noord-Brabant and Overijssel. The team would like to thank all partners who made this project possible.
