The Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences is part of an alliance of universities that supports the nationwide campaign "Universities take a stand!". The aim of the campaign is to take a stand against right-wing extremist influence and attacks on universities and to make a commitment to an open, solidary and free academic and university culture on social networks. At the same time, the aim is to draw attention to existing anti-democratic influence and attacks to which actors at universities are increasingly exposed.

The alliance is therefore calling on politicians to equally protect the freedom of research and teaching education in all disciplines, to adequately equip universities and to promote an open culture of welcome.
