GovTech solutions are as diverse as the tasks of the state and administration themselves. They can focus on central topics such as digital services or interaction with citizens and organizations or address internal administrative topics such as procurement or personnel planning. There are also solutions that focus specifically on certain policy areas such as security, social affairs, health or education, or that focus on smart cities. It is not only the state and administration that benefit from the digitalization of the wide range of services and processes in the public sector, but also citizens and society as a whole.

In the 2024 summer round of the "Start-up Competition - Digital Innovations", the BMWK is therefore awarding a focus prize endowed with 10,000 euros for the best concept of a start-up for a digital product or service in the GovTech sector.
