Artificial intelligence round table event: "Dirt slinging AI - automation on the ground"

16:00 - 17:30

Note: The event will be held in German.

Artificial intelligence is already part of our everyday lives and will increasingly shape them. The rapid technical advances in this field will lead to far-reaching upheavals in various areas of social life, from private life to studies, apprenticeships and the world of work.

For this reason, the AI Transdisciplinary project is offering a round table event at which experts from various disciplines and sectors will shed light on issues arising from the introduction of artificial intelligence into society at large.

Artificial intelligence round table event: "AI as a slingshot - automation down to earth"

AI technologies are often portrayed as supposed magic that can miraculously produce impressive results. The fact that this magic often requires vast amounts of human labor under precarious working conditions, which is outsourced to African countries, for example, is not usually part of this narrative. At the same time, AI systems are not produced in a spherical cloud, but in huge data centers that require immense amounts of energy, materials and water. It is time to bring AI technologies down to earth. Because they have an impact on us all, and not just because of their production conditions and resource consumption. They are increasingly being used to make decisions about us - for example in our working lives. We therefore need a comprehensive discussion on how AI can be developed in a way that is oriented towards the common good and not just in the interests of large technology companies.
