HSNR and Heinrich-Hertz-Berufskolleg deepen cooperation

The Hochschule Niederrhein and the Heinrich-Hertz-Berufskolleg from Düsseldorf have signed a joint cooperation agreement.

The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) and the Heinrich-Hertz-Berufskolleg (HHBK) in Düsseldorf are intensifying their joint work. The two educational institutions have already been in close contact for several years, with the HSNR's central Student Advice Service regularly taking part in study information events at the school. The HSNR and the HHBK have now signed a cooperation agreement that is intended to build a bridge to practice and research-oriented studies and help generate the next generation of students.

"Cooperation with The Hochschule Niederrhein in the context of Student Advice is a valuable opportunity to inspire young people to pursue studies that match their interests, abilities and goals. Through this cooperation, we can jointly promote the potential and talents of students, offer them guidance and prospects and prepare them to find their place in society," says Michael Suermann, Head of School at HHBK. The HSNR's central Student Advice Center will support students and their parents with career guidance and the transition from vocational college to university.

The HHBK is a technical vocational college with a specialization in chemistry, electrical engineering and information technology. The two partners therefore want to work closely together in the future, particularly in the STEM field. The Faculties of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at HSNR have already formed specialist groups with the aim of reaching agreements on the recognition of individual school achievements for studies in the respective faculties.

In addition to workshops and lectures on study orientation, STEM-enthusiastic pupils have the opportunity to take part in a one-week taster week, attend open lectures or complete a dual orientation internship.

Not only students should benefit from the cooperation, but also the teachers at HHBK. An important building block is the exchange between teachers at the school and professors at HSNR. In addition, the HSNR supports teachers in getting young people interested in scientific and technical topics.
