Easter vacation campus for students at The Hochschule Niederrhein

During the Easter vacations, pupils have the opportunity to take part in various workshops at The Hochschule Niederrhein.

During the Easter vacations, pupils from the 7th grade onwards can register for exciting and free projects at The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach. Whether programming, weaving or exciting things about the element of water - there is something for everyone!

The popular "Coding School" will take place twice. From March 25 to 28 in Krefeld and from April 2 to 5 in Mönchengladbach. Using their own projects, participants learn how to program and can expand their existing knowledge. There is no frontal teaching, but pupils learn from computer science students. No previous knowledge is required. In addition to the programming languages shell scripting, Python and C, individual interests can also be taken into account. Registration by e-mail to codingschool(at)hsnr.de.

On April 2, pupils can attend the "dobby weaving" workshop and learn the foundation course of weaving on a machine for upholstery fabrics. They will also learn about weaving structures, yarn color selection and color blends. The course starts at 1 p.m. at the Faculty of Textile and Clothing Technology in Mönchengladbach. The faculty also has two other offers for students who are enthusiastic about textiles.

At the workshop "Ha-Zwei-Ooh!" - Exciting facts about the element of water, the young people embark on a colorful water journey. On April 2, the pupils will explore the following questions: What substances are dissolved in water? Can water taste good? How can people better protect and purify this important resource? The engineers of the future know the right formula to counteract climate change. The workshop will take place at Krefeld South Campus.

The "Designlab" of the Faculty of Design will take place from April 4 to 5. The offer is aimed specifically at high school students. On site, they will gain an insight into the study options and the Communication Design and Project and Object Design degree programs. In addition to the campus tour, pupils can also get active themselves: Together with students and lecturers, they work on a mini-project, which they then present to other participants. Registration and further information at https://www.hs-niederrhein.de/design/designlab.

All offers are free of charge, registration is required. Details on all offers, information on venues and registration at https://www.hs-niederrhein.de/osterferiencampus.
