The Hochschule Niederrhein's tutoring program is reaccredited

The tutoring program was successfully reaccredited by the Accreditation Commission of the German Association for University Didactics.

Teaching education at eye level, in the language of the students: Tutors are important companions throughout your studies. The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) is now reaccrediting its successful tutoring program, which was first accredited in 2016. This is made possible by the decision of the Accreditation Commission of the German Association for University Didactics (akko).

This means that the tutoring program once again meets the professional standards of the German Association for University Didactics (dghd) and has been awarded the seal of approval and certificate. The experts were impressed by the continuous development of the program, its establishment at the university and the quality of the courses offered.

"We are very proud that our tutoring program was the first in Germany to be reaccredited by akko. This shows that the qualification and certification of tutors makes an important contribution to the university landscape," says Heike Kröpke, head of the tutor program. The re-accreditation also offers the opportunity to set new impulses that will further develop the program.

The akko experts highlighted the program's nationwide networking and visibility. For example, the tutoring program is a member of the Germany-wide "Network for Tutoring at Universities", to which 60 colleges and universities belong. The HSNR is also a cooperation partner of the "Rhineland Network Certificate Program for Higher Education Didactic Qualification of Tutors".

The good anchoring of the tutoring program at the university was also rated positively. The tutors are deployed in all ten faculties. They help students to understand and advance their learning material, offer guidance at the start of their studies, advise study groups and provide support with digital teaching. The university honors the commitment of the tutors annually with the Tutor Award.
