General information

Electronic journals can be accessed from any PC at the university. For use from home, you will need your library user number and password. If you have not used the library before, a prior activation of the user card is required for students.

For licensing reasons, the services of the EZB are only available to city users on the premises of the library.

To read and process many journal articles in full text, you need Adobe Reader.

 

Terms of use

Only members of the Hochschule Niederrhein are allowed to use the library for their own scientific purposes:

to use electronic journals within the scope of the license terms of the individual providers
to search the range of electronic journals
to have search results (including full-text articles) displayed on the screen
to save individual search results (including full-text articles) locally for their own academic use
to print individual search results (including full-text articles) as a paper copy in one copy for their own academic use

Basically forbidden:

Any use outside the license terms of the individual providers.

Any use beyond the own scientific use. In particular, use for commercial purposes is prohibited.

Systematic or multiple saving (especially by robots), printing and/or archiving of the offered data. The following is prohibited, for example:

  • saving, printing and/or archiving entire issues of electronic journals
  • passing on licensed material to third parties who are not authorized users
  • renting or selling the data
  • placing the data on the user's servers
  • modification of the licensed material
  • the production of derivative works
