MBA studies promote entrepreneurial thinking with own module

"Business Models and Entrepreneurship"

As a continuing, generalist management studies program, an MBA generally covers all management functions. At The Hochschule Niederrhein, the career-integrated degree programme in Leadership & Management also promotes entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to analyze and develop business models in the future. This content is the subject of an independent study module, which will be offered for the first time in the winter semester 2020/21.

As a consequence of digitalization, established business models in a wide variety of industries are coming under increasing pressure, while at the same time new ways of creating entrepreneurial value are emerging. Against this backdrop, business models today no longer need to be merely managed, but actively shaped. Managers should therefore be able to analyze and develop business models more than ever before. The new, practical orientation module "Business Models and Entrepreneurship" takes this development into account: Students learn to identify strategic options in dynamic environments and to develop convincing business plans from business ideas. The knowledge is imparted in such a way that it is just as applicable in start-ups as in established companies. Students will recognize how innovative and entrepreneurial thinking can become the driving force behind successful business developments.

The module is led by our contract lecturer Mr. Marc Janssen. He brings experience from the management and business development of large companies as well as being an entrepreneur and company founder. Most recently, he founded Ad Infinitum, a company that develops AI-powered, customized bidding agents for online retailers.
