Julia Demmer bei der Preisverleihung des Student Poster Awards

Doctoral student wins Student Poster Award

Congratulations to Julia Demmer from the NOVA Competence Center – Novel Electronics & Advanced Materials, Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science at Hochschule Niederrhein – on receiving the Student Poster Award at the LOPEC 2025 Scientific Conference.

Her poster titled “Analysis and Comparison of Different Top Electrodes for Quantum Dot Electroluminescent Textiles” was commended by the OE‑A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association), the leading global association for flexible and printed electronics, for its scientific depth. The award is sponsored by the IOP Publishing FPE Journal.
The award ceremony took place at LOPEC 2025 in Munich, a well-established forum for researchers and industry professionals in flexible electronics. The event hosted over 2,300 professionals and about 170 exhibitors, with roughly 69 % from industry and services.

The NOVA Competence Center brings together expertise in chemistry, materials science, electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, and textile technology to advance organic, nanostructured, flexible electronics—from sensors to smart textiles.
Julia Demmer’s success highlights the value of applied basic research in emerging tech and reinforces the academic and innovation profile of both NOVA and the university.

The next LOPEC will take place from February 25–27, 2026, in Munich.
