A total of 143 students at The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) have been awarded a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship this year. They are among the university's top-performing students and are characterised by their special social commitment. 48 companies and foundations from the region support the selected men and women on their way through their studies.
The scholarship students receive 300 euros per month, half of which is financed by the participating sponsors and half by the federal government. In addition to financial support, they benefit from direct contact with companies, valuable practical insights and the development of a professional network. The companies also benefit: They get to know committed young talent at an early stage.
"Getting involved in social and volunteer work is not always easy alongside the daily challenges and is often not sufficiently recognised. I am therefore all the more pleased that we have been able to remove some obstacles for the scholarship students who have been honoured today. My special thanks go to the sponsors, whose generous support gives young talents the opportunity of a scholarship even in difficult times," says Professor Dr Gudrun Stockmanns, Vice President for Studies and Teaching Education.
The HSNR has been participating in the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship programme since 2011 and has awarded over 2,500 scholarships since then. This makes the HSNR one of the most committed universities in this funding programme.
