Design: 'S-Polarskin - Abundance of Light and impulses of sustainable lighting' by Joline Kaumanns at the Materialica Award 2022

In the master class "Intercultural Design" Joline Kaumanns designed under the title 'S-Polarskin - abundance of light and impulses of sustainable lighting - a story of genderless second skin', not alone a ski overall made of natural materials.

Joline developed, among other things by means of different paper yarn qualities, wool qualities from Sweden and reflective tapes, a transparent sandwich material as a "fabric-knitted structure", in which especially the light management sets sustainable impulses in many cases. This is shown very well in the exploration drawing and yet does not reveal the whole truth about a clever textile joining process. (see attached pictures). The studies were supervised by Professor Dr. Marina-Elena Wachs.

Joline Kaumanns submitted her material design for the Materialica Award 2022. In her research work in the Master's degree programme "Textile Products - Design" she also deals with light and the differentiated effect of sustainable textile structures.
