Fungi Artis - Jasmin Schmitz design of leather alternatives with in the Materialica Award 2022

"Fungi Artis" is the title of the bachelor thesis and material development of Jasmin Schmitz, which was developed in the last months in her studies of the program "Design Engineer - Fashion".

Fungi Artis serves as a leather alternative for bags and accessories such as "card holders" (see attached pictures).
Jasmin has already become actively self-employed during her studies, with bags and accessories made from sustainable leather materials (see: www.monolar.eu)
"For me, it always trains in a very playful way, if you try out a start-up company during your fashion and textile design studies. And if this is now made even more sustainable by Jasmin with her passion for material developments of vegan leather alternatives, so much the better;)" (Professor Dr. Marina-Elena Wachs)

Jasmin has now submitted the material Fungi Artis for the Materialica Award 2022: we wish her success not only in the competition but also that the material will be even more in demand by the green economy.

The bachelor thesis was supervised by Professor Dr. Marina-Elena Wachs and Professor Karin Stark.
