Alongside Neo.Fashion and Berlin Curated, the Berlin Salon is one of the most important platforms for up-and-coming German fashion designers. This year, 36 emerging designers were selected, including Tarik Coşar, a graduate of the Hochschule Niederrhein. He presented his collection ‘What do we leave behind?’, which was created as part of the Design Engineering Degree programme and supervised by Prof. Dr Marina-Elena Wachs and Prof. Andrea Klüsener.
The exhibition is curated by Christiane Arp, who has been committed to promoting up-and-coming German fashion designers for several years. As part of Berlin Fashion Week, the Berliner Salon offers emerging designers a platform to present their work to an international audience from the fashion industry, the media and the cultural sector.
With its international audience, the Berliner Salon offers a valuable platform for visibility, exchange and networking. For many designers, taking part is an important step on the path to a career in the professional fashion industry.
The selection of Tarik Coşar highlights the creative quality of the theses on the Design Engineering course at the Faculty of Textile and Clothing Technology at the Hochschule Niederrhein, which combines engineering expertise with high creative standards.
