During the Hochschule Niederrhein’s Campus Week, NIERS took part this semester with a workshop entitled ‘Sustainable Business: How Can It Be Achieved?’. Angelika Krehl and Florian Grebe led the engaging discussion with participants from a wide range of disciplines – from business administration and textiles to Early Childhood Education – and discussed with the students issues relating to sustainable economic models, regional transformation and their implications. Specialisation was on the so-called ‘Doughnut Model’ as a framework for a sustainable economy and possible corporate restructuring measures to bring organisations into line with it.
Campus Week offers students the opportunity to think outside the box and take part in workshops and lectures from other faculties, enabling them to broaden their own skills and ways of thinking, discover new perspectives or simply gain an insight into topics outside their own studies.
