Wilhelm Lorch Foundation honours three theses by students at The Hochschule Niederrhein
Three distinctions for theses honoured by the Wilhelm Lorch Foundation at the TextilWirtschaft Forum 2025
At the TextilWirtschaft Forum on 15 May 2025, three outstanding theses by students at our university were honoured by the Wilhelm Lorch Foundation:
- In her master's thesis, Rike Brendgen (Technology category) developed a textile organic electrochemical transistor that detects glucose in sweat - an innovative contribution to wearable, non-invasive health monitoring.
Supervised by Prof.in. Dr.in. Ir. Anne Schwarz-Pfeiffer.
- Ramona Möllers and Charlotte Weber (Business category) were honoured for their Bachelor's thesis, in which they developed a circular design concept together with Africa Collect Textiles (Kenya) and Fynch Hatton (Germany). The focus: the effects of used clothing exports, the development of local recycling and educational work with children - as a contribution to a globally responsible textile industry.
The work was supervised by Prof.in. Dr.in. Marina-Elena Wachs.
The certificates were ceremoniously presented by Prof.in. Dr.in. Maike Rabe, Markus Gotta (Executive Board Wilhelm Lorch Foundation) and Michael Werner (TextilWirtschaft).
An evening full of inspiration, valuable encounters with CEOs, experts and young designers - and a strong signal for an innovative textile future.
