Digital Leadership
Leading in the digital age

Hochschule Niederrhein. Your way.
About the certificate course

The introduction to big data and new digital business models requires both the employees involved and the entire organization to be able to innovate and change: agile and flexible working is required. At the same time, the values and expectations of young, highly qualified employees, also known as "digital natives" or "Generation Y", are changing. These young professionals demand exciting tasks, modern IT systems, a friendly team and working from home.

Managers and junior managers must be prepared for these disruptive changes in good time. They will only be successful if they adopt a new type of leadership style known as "digital leadership".

In this certificate course, you will learn what requirements are placed on (future) managers during the introduction to big data and digitalization projects and which methods and tools are best suited to digital leadership.

Three questions for your university teacher / lecturer, Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Mülder:

Why is continuing education in "Digital Leadership" currently of interest to many professionals?
"Big data, Industry 4.0 and digitalization projects in general only work with new leadership concepts. Project leaders and managers must learn to lead in an agile way. The qualified specialists required for demanding projects cannot be integrated into traditional hierarchies. Today, projects take place in distributed, sometimes global teams. As future digital leaders, the participants in this continuing education program learn and test new methods and tools for leading digital teams."

What are you particularly looking forward to in this university certificate course?
"Introducing participants to innovative forms and tools of digital leadership, discussing with them how they can be implemented in their own company and motivating and empowering them to become digital leaders in the future."

And what can participants look forward to?
"An exciting seminar with a practical emphasis / orientation, where you might initially think "That won't work in our company...", but will then be able to test and implement it directly using concrete examples and methods."
