Certificate studies are career-integrated continuing education programs, which comprise several certificate courses coordinated in terms of time and content. Successful completion of the individual certificate courses leads to the award of the higher degree. In the case of a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS), at least 10 ECTS must be achieved, and in the case of the Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS), which builds on this, at least 30 ECTS must be achieved. The CAS and DAS continuing education degrees are based on the system established by SwissUni (an association of Swiss colleges and universities). The integration into the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) ensures transparency and comparability of the degrees.
