Do I need a university degree to participate in the courses?
No. You can also participate in the certificate courses if you have completed vocational training in the relevant field and have worked for at least three years.

When will I receive a certificate from The Hochschule Niederrhein?
When you successfully pass the respective examination within the framework of the certificate course offered. The examination is offered as an option. If you do not wish to take an examination, you will receive a certificate of attendance if you attend at least 75% of the attendance time.

Foreign degree/qualification
Those interested in continuing training who have a foreign postgraduate degree programme or a professional qualification acquired abroad must provide evidence of sufficient German language skills. You can find all the relevant information at Information for international applicants for university studies.

What are ECTS points?
ECTS points (also known as credit points) reflect the required workload of a certificate course or studies. Per ECTS point, the time required for continuing training is usually 25 hours. In principle, ECTS points can be credited to subsequent studies after examination by the respective university.

Why continuing training is always worthwhile

Blended learning

Our postgraduate degree programmes are designed as blended learning: the combination of classroom and online elements supports working participants in integrating continuing education into their everyday working and family lives. Our certificate studies and courses are accompanied by the online learning platform Moodle. This is the central point of contact for participants for all information relating to the course. The lecturers also provide learning content and activities via Moodle, which can be used regardless of time and location. You will receive your individual access data to the learning platform in good time before the course begins.

Even before you begin your continuing education, your life is probably jam-packed with a job, family, hobbies and other activities. And each day still only has 24 hours. This is often exacerbated by the learning habit: you learn 'on-the-job' every day, but the last intensive learning phase may have been several years ago. There are therefore two key factors on the road to successful and stress-free completion of your continuing education: Managing your time effectively and maintaining your motivation.
