Despite decades of efforts to promote women in science, over 70% of professorships in Germany are held by men, and mothers face additional challenges such as the "maternal wall". The pandemic has exacerbated these problems. In this presentation, we will analyze the compatibility of family and career and discuss possible solutions as well as best practice examples from Germany and Austria. Join us as we discuss ways to support scientists with children (or who wish to have children)!
