Offers for Lecturers

Hochschule Niederrhein. Your way.

Teaching education is a cornerstone of The Hochschule Niederrhein. Our students acquire the skills they need to meet the challenges of tomorrow. The Hochschule Niederrhein therefore supports its lecturers in continuously developing the quality of studies and teaching education. The media didactics (digitaLe team) and university didactics departments work closely together and have developed a joint advisory, continuing education and support programme.

The University Didactics Team

...supports you in combining professional and subject-specific expertise with didactic knowledge and subject-specific didactic imagination, giving you the opportunity to supplement your view of teaching education with a higher education didactic perspective.

The digitaLe Team

...is your contact for media didactic questions in teaching education. We provide individualised advice and support in the faculties, step by step from the teaching idea to feedback. We support the use of digital tools in media didactics and promote student- and skills-orientated (digital) teaching throughout the university.

Teaching education does not have to be developed in your own little room - let's design your teaching education together: skills-oriented, student-centred, needs-based and future-proof. We address your individual concerns with our support services - feel free to contact us.

University and Media Didactic Counselling

We offer a wide range of counselling topics for your individual questions about (digital) teaching, learning and examining. We provide advice on university and media didactic issues, digital tools and trends, examination didactic challenges and applications for external and internal teaching funding programmes. Every individual request is welcome.

Feedback on Teaching Education (TAP)

Qualitative feedback on teaching supports the systematic reflection of your own teaching education. We offer you various formats of qualitative feedback on teaching education, such as a teaching observation or a TAP (Teaching Analysis Poll). With the TAP in particular, you receive re-registration from students during the semester about what helps them to learn, what aspects they find obstructive and what concrete suggestions they have for improving the course. To carry out a standardised course evaluation, please contact the Evaluation Coordination Office.

Deployment and Qualification of eTutors

The digitaLe team can provide you with student assistants (eTutors) to support you in the implementation and supervision of digitally supported teaching projects. The eTutors are deployed in the faculties and provide support in the design, implementation and monitoring of digital teaching/learning scenarios. Since the 2018/2019 winter semester, it has been possible to qualify student assistants in (media) didactics (in cooperation with the tutoring programme).

Project #Digitalkompetenz.nrw

In an increasingly digitalised world of learning and work, digital key competencies are indispensable for social and professional participation. The Hochschule Niederrhein has set itself the goal of preparing its students, lecturers and employees in the best possible way for the associated new challenges in their studies and everyday working life. In the #Digitalkompetenz.nrw project, an online self-assessment is being developed on the topic of "Digital key competencies at universities", which makes it possible to assess one's own digital competencies and to further advance them. This will be linked to a catalogue of advisory, training and further education offers on digital key qualifications, which will enable the search for individually suitable offers based on the test results.

AI in Teaching Education, Learning and Examin

The project "AI in teaching, learning and examinations" strengthens the responsible use of artificial intelligence in studies, teaching education and examinations.
It supports lecturers and students in the reflective use of AI and develops innovative approaches to integrate artificial intelligence into courses and examination formats in a meaningful way.

More information

We support teaching development both at the micro level (e.g. individual courses), the meso level (e.g. curriculum development) and at the macro level: university development. We do this by supporting strategy processes, moderating internal processes, acquiring externally-funded projects and getting involved in boards and committees. It is also important to us to share the results of our work.

Support for Strategy Processes

With our expertise and experience, we support strategic processes within the university and act as sparring partners for faculties and university management in strategic issues and processes. We advise on current challenges in the field of studies and teaching education and participate in the development of university-wide guidelines, policies and development plans.

Acquisition of Third-Party Funds

Acquiring third-party funding for the university in order to continuously drive innovation in teaching education is an important part of our task. Successful acquisitions in recent years have included the projects HD@DH.nrw (DH.nrw and MKW NRW), PEDaL HN (MKW NRW), KI-transdisziplinär (BMBF), #Digitalkompetenz.nrw (DH.nrw and MKW NRW) and SoTL:HN (Freiraum 2025, Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre).
