Despite the now rich selection of communication channels, paper is still an important means of communication that can be processed in a variety of ways. This ranges from printing and simple finishing work to elaborate bookbinding work, which is always competently accompanied and guided by the personnel of the print workshop. Students can and should try their hand here.
Starting with prepress with numerous computer workstations, through expenditure on a laser production system or as a large format on an inkjet printer, to traditional typesetting with an extensive range of lead typesetting and subsequent printing on a manual proofing press or an old Heidelberg printing press, the printing options on paper and other substrates are very diverse.
In the finishing department, simple ring bindings or adhesive bindings, but also high-quality hardcovers with thread stitching, impact cassettes or packaging prototypes can be realized. Here, too, students learn under supervision the individual steps from planning to the finished product.
Foils for exposing screens in screen printing can also be produced in the printing workshop.
