The heart of the printmaking workshop is the intaglio press: Etchings but also woodcuts and linocuts are printed here. It is possible to produce intaglio prints by hand as well as etchings. An extraction system for working with acids and various tools for creating the printing forms are available. Students have the opportunity to experiment independently in the workshop and work on printmaking projects.

Equipment:
The equipment in the printmaking workshop includes an intaglio press (80 cm), an extraction system and a heating plate.

The processing of the printing forms takes place directly into the metal surface. All printing techniques possible here have in common the confrontation with the material, the overcoming of the resistance that the metal offers to the tool.

During printing, the plate is first placed with a precise fit and a damp paper is placed over it. Covered with printing felts, everything is rotated through the rollers and the finished print is carefully lifted off the other side.
