Accounting and Controlling in Health Care

Prof. Dr. Marius Gros has been Professor of Accounting and Controlling in Health Care at the Hochschule Niederrhein since 01.10.2019. In addition, he is a member of the Department of Business and Markets of the Doctoral College for Applied Research in NRW and a regular university teacher / lecturer at the Vietnamese-German University in Binh Duong New City, Vietnam. Before joining The Hochschule Niederrhein, he was a university professor of business administration, especially finance and accounting at the University of Bremen. He also taught as a substitute professor at Goethe University Frankfurt and Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg. He was a contract lecturer at the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg, at the Institute for Law and Finance of the Goethe-University Frankfurt and at the DHBW Mosbach.

 

Prof. Dr. Marius Gros received his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) in 2010 from Goethe University Frankfurt for his comparative law dissertation. He habilitated there in 2015 with an empirical study on the measurement of regulatory success in capital markets. His core research areas are national and international accounting and corporate governance in a broader sense. His work appears in national and international journals and focuses in particular on monitoring and enforcement mechanisms, standard setting, and the effect of management incentives on financial reporting. In addition, he is co-editor of the Beck'sches Handbuch der Rechnungslegung (Beck Accounting Handbook) and the commentary Bilanzrecht (Accounting Law), also published by C.H. Beck-Verlag, as well as an appointed member of the examination board for auditors at the German Chamber of Auditors. For many years, he was an honorary member of the Consultative Working Group of the Corporate Reporting Standing Committee of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) in Paris. He regularly participates, for example, as an expert in international accreditation procedures.
