Nursing Science

Prof. Dr. Martin Alfuth is a physiotherapist and sports scientist. After completing his doctorate in the functional area of movement analysis at the Institute for Experimental Musculoskeletal Medicine at the Medical Faculty of the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster in 2012, he spent two years as managing director for teaching education and research at medicoreha Welsink Akademie GmbH in Neuss. In July 2014, he was appointed Professor of Therapeutic Sciences at the Faculty of Health Care at the Hochschule Niederrhein. His core research areas include research on sensorimotor function and strength in patients with load-dependent impairments of the musculoskeletal system, biomechanical and ICF-oriented analysis of the effectiveness of shoe insoles and orthoses in the context of therapy management in patients with musculoskeletal and neurological impairments, and evaluation of therapy programs in rehabilitation. Martin Alfuth is author of national and international publications and speaker at conferences.
