Krefeld, August 20. Protection of species - that is the theme of Eva Viola Emmermann's thesis "Sorry". On September 8, she will present her collection in front of a professional audience and international press at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. A jury consisting of members of the industry and the university selected the outfits of the double student from a total of seven collections.
Eva Viola Emmermann's collection "Sorry" takes a critical look at the issue of species conservation. Patterns and structures of the collection are inspired by endangered species in Germany, both animals and plants. To make the collection as sustainable as possible, biodegradable or recycled materials were used without fiber blends.
A double major in Textile Technologies and Design Engineering Textiles, she has worked on surface design in knitwear, woven fabrics, laser technology and especially print design. "The focus of my work throughout my studies has been on sustainability. Here, critiques were predominantly hidden in patterns, with the goal of a positive and lasting effect on the viewer," says Eva Viola Emmermann.
Her thesis will also be shown together with six other collections designed by students from the Faculty of Textile and Clothing Technology at Berlin's NEOFASHION. This is a trade fair with a fashion show for fashion graduates.
