The number of technical textiles is becoming increasingly important in our lives. Be it in mobility (car/airplane), or also in leisure, profession, trade as well as sports. But also in the construction industry. Examples here are components from aircraft sports, functional clothing, work clothing, work protection (e.g. bulletproof vest/cut protection), but also roof constructions such as in stadiums. Future-oriented development and examination are of crucial importance here.

Accreditation: The consecutive Degree programme was accredited by the Accreditation Agency for Degree Programmes in Engineering, Computer Science, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN) in 2004. In 2010 and 2017 the re-accreditation took place without any conditions.
Fields of teaching
In our wide range of courses, our students learn the advanced courses on technical textiles for a wide variety of applications. With this knowledge, you will be able to translate the requirements for a product into a technical specification, define parameters for the finishing process and name influencing factors for subsequent joining processes.
Composites and smart textiles are among the modern innovative technical textiles with a dynamically growing market. We impart knowledge about the production methods and properties of these textiles and thus enable our graduates to identify possible applications as well as advantages and disadvantages and thus meet individual product requirements.
Responsibility towards natural resources, knowledge of the principle of corporate social responsibility as well as process-integrated environmental protection programs are firmly anchored in the curriculum and train our students to accompany fair, sustainable production processes in the companies.
