Study structure

The Textile and Clothing Technology degree programme prepares students for the challenges of the textile and clothing industry. After a solid grounding in the textile value chain, they can specialize in flexible optional modules such as Textile Technology, Product Development or Textile Management.

The focus is on sustainable processes, innovative technologies and learning with a practical emphasis / orientation. Students choose from future-oriented topics such as smart textiles, 3D digitization and AI. They gain practical experience in modern laboratories and interdisciplinary projects. A practical application or semester abroad as well as the option of a double degree with Tiangong University/China complete the apprenticeship.

Study and gain practical experience at the same time

Cooperative engineering education (KIA) on the Textile and Clothing Technology degree programme combines a practical engineering degree with in-company vocational training. During the first four semesters, you will complete the programme content of the first academic year in an extended form: You will spend two days a week at the university and three days at the company. From the fifth semester onwards, you will join the full-time studies programme and continue your studies together with the regular full-time students. After around four and a half years, you will have both your Bachelor's degree and an IHK-recognised training qualification in your pocket.

The cooperative engineering education offers you the opportunity to take on responsibility in the company at an early stage and at the same time acquire sound specialist knowledge at the university - ideal for anyone who wants to start their career with a practical emphasis / orientation.
