What motivated you to pursue a career-integrated MBA?
My interest in management, in micro- and macroeconomic contexts and professional development motivated me to pursue the MBA studies. The career-integrated MBA studies at the Hochschule Niederrhein have been the optimal solution to combine studies and professional activities without interruption. In addition, the positive approval of my superiors has been an important and decisive factor for me. Thanks to the extensive practical opportunities, I also decided to complete a career-integrated MBA. I liked the overall package very much. The module "Investment and Financial Management" in particular has stayed very much in my mind. The module "Innovation and Change Management" also left a lasting impression on me.

What changed for you after the MBA?
After the MBA degree, I successfully applied for a position at the European Commission. The new job is very exciting and is in an international, business-oriented environment. Because the programme content of the MBA studies is relevant to practice and always up-to-date, I feel competent in the new professional environment.

Has the MBA studies paid off for you?
Absolutely! I am glad that I decided to take the MBA studies at that time. The MBA degree can be compared to a business card. It has given me new opportunities and opened doors. Also, in terms of the international environment, the module "Intercultural Leadership and Collaboration" has given me a broader understanding of different values and norms. In the long run, the MBA gives me a positive feeling and a good foundation. Also, my salary has increased thanks to the degree programme.

What advice would you give to first-year students of a career-integrated MBA?
I recommend other first-year students to link the projects and presentations with the professional environment. It makes it easier to understand the difficult learning content and shortens the learning phase. A combination of theory and practice is an ideal way to deepen the specialisation and to memorize it in the long term. In addition, playing sports is an excellent balance to studies. Jogging, cycling and swimming are my tips for getting enough exercise alongside your studies.
