In the R³ project, using the cities of Mönchengladbach and Krefeld – both undergoing structural change – as case studies, we investigated how corporate regional responsibility (CRR) can be utilised to strengthen social innovations and thereby harness endogenous potential. The focus was on the question of how public-interest-oriented engagement by stakeholders can help to tackle societal challenges. In addition, particular attention was paid to resonant relationships as a potential condition for the success of social innovations.
We have also published the key findings as fact sheets:
1) Actors and the driving forces behind their public-good-oriented actions
2) Actors’ relationships and structures as a connecting network of social innovations
3) Individual experiences and resonant relationships as drivers of cooperative action
The full project documentation is available to interested parties and offers advanced insights into the empirical findings as well as practical implications for regional development. The fact sheets on the key findings can be found > here <
