Successful participation and presentation of research results at BMT 2023 in Duisburg

The annual BMT conference of the German Society for Biomedical Engineering, which took place in Duisburg, Germany, from September 26 to 28, 2023, is one of the most important platforms for the exchange of knowledge on current trends and findings in the field of biomedical engineering. The VDE DGBMT brings together passionate professionals who share their expertise and experience to tackle current challenges together. The conference addressed various topics, patient-centered medicine, regulatory affairs, sustainability in healthcare, deep medicine and technical sovereignty. Special attention was paid to the promotion of young talents, for which professional and social side events such as the Young Forum, the Get Together and an evening event in the rooms of the Fraunhofer-inHaus center were offered.

Due to the high proportion of German biomedical companies in North Rhine-Westphalia, it was of particular importance to hold the conference in the nearby Mercatorhalle Duisburg. Universities and industry partners played a crucial role and for the first time were given the opportunity to actively participate in the conference program by hosting symposia or taking part in our large interactive exhibition.

An effective way to disseminate the research results in the field of medical technology was the poster presentation by Lars Gierschner M.Eng., a member of the CompASS team. He was able to present and publish research in the field of sensor-assisted wound care from the iFoot and EPWUF-KI projects to the public.
