The CompASS team from the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences was recently a guest at the Medica 2023 trade fair in Düsseldorf, one of the largest medical trade fairs in the world. With over 5,300 exhibitors from almost 70 nations and 83,000 visitors, the trade fair offered an impressive platform for innovative technologies in the field of medical technology. Special attention was paid to smart applications such as smart patches and sensors in the field of medical wound care.
One highlight was the technical presentation by Prof. Dr. Nannen, head of the CompASS team. Her exciting contribution presented the latest research results in the field of sensory applications of CompASS in medicine and in the field of smart textiles. The audience not only received an overview of pioneering developments, but also an outlook on future prospects in this promising field.
Following the presentation, the CompASS team deepened the knowledge gained through intensive discussions with various companies and research institutions. Potential joint research applications and cooperative projects were discussed. These dialogs enabled the team to make valuable contacts and explore potential synergies for future research activities.
