Franziska Poddig's thesis entitled "The (in)perfection of chance as design potential - sharpening a new perception of unused production resources for a textile value creation of the future." combines the disciplines of design and engineering for the development of innovative and sustainable value creation processes from textile weaving waste.
The design focus is on the importance of chance not only from the perspective of sociology and science, but also its potential for the design process. Inspired by the works of Gerhard Richter, Franziska Poddig establishes in her work moments of chance not only on the conceptual level, beyond that she developed with the so-called chance form a strategy for designing a formal language based on the idea of methodical chance.
