Qualification of facility managers
Organizational development and quality management

Hochschule Niederrhein. Your way.
About the ONLINE continuing education

Very good quality of care and support is a clear competitive advantage for social institutions. Organizational development and quality management, as sophisticated management tools, make a significant contribution to scoring points in this respect with clients and payers. In order to be able to professionally develop and implement appropriate strategies and measures, managers with the appropriate specialized knowledge are indispensable.
The continuing education imparts selected competences from the areas of organizational development and quality management, which are necessary for facility managers and the management level of social institutions, on the basis of current problems. Central topics are complaint and interface management, error culture and tensions between social and economic objectives.
The ONLINE format of the continuing education meets your need for flexibility: you learn from home or work. Through the individual case study "myCase", an immediate practical benefit is developed - coached by the lecturer and in exchange with professionally experienced colleagues.

Goals of the continuing education

Upon successful completion of the continuing education you will be able to:

  • Design and establish solution approaches for current quality management problems.
  • Learn from mistakes together with your employees and colleagues, recognize the need for change and successfully implement corrections.
  • To design result-oriented processes for your complaint management and, above all, to communicate them.
  • To understand socio-political developments and to be able to derive strategies and measures from them.
  • To make sustainable decisions in the area of conflict between the social and the economic.
Advantages
  • Professional development and expansion of the business management qualifications required to manage social institutions.
  • Increase in the quality of care and nursing by managers with the latest knowledge.
  • High flexibility and facilitated integration of continuing education into professional and private life through spatially flexible online teaching education.
  • Exchange with colleagues and development of a professional network.
  • Immediate practical transfer through the inclusion of individual questions and projects of the employees.
  • Increased motivation and retention of employees in your institution.
Target group

The continuing education programme is aimed at facility managers - e.g. in senior care and care for the disabled - who would like to update and deepen their knowledge. Also addressed are future facility managers, especially nursing service managers, who would like to embark on this career path.

Teaching and learning education

The continuing education, which has an interactive seminar character, is divided into online presentations and self-learning phases. The self-learning phases are supported by multimedia materials and assignments on the Moodle learning platform. Through the individual case study "myCase" to be brought in by the participants - coached by the lecturer - a direct practical benefit for the own professional practice (e.g. the own institution) is developed.

Three questions for your lecturer, Prof. Dr. Werner Heister:

Why is a continuing education programme in "Qualification of facility management" currently of interest to many professionals?
"Core management tasks such as up-to-date quality management, sustainable and efficient complaint management and suitable interface management are also important factors for good service provision in social economy organizations. This also applies to a suitable error culture as part of the organizational culture and an appropriate consideration of current developments in social policy. In this course, the necessary competencies in the specified fields are taught with a high degree of practical relevance, always taking a look at the area of tension between business requirements and social services."

What are you particularly looking forward to in this continuing education programme?
"I am particularly looking forward to the exchange with practitioners and the joint development of creative solutions for the facilities."

And what can the participants look forward to?
"Participants can look forward to interesting topics, meaningful examples and good joint discussions. And based on experience, they can be assured that they will have a lot of fun."
