Process optimization

Hochschule Niederrhein. Your way.
About the certificate course

In order to survive in the market, your company must design its business and manufacturing processes to be value-adding and productive - regardless of whether it is an SME or a large corporation. Quality management systems, for example based on DIN EN ISO 9001:2015, which are distinguished by a very high level of process orientation, help you to achieve this. A key objective of this standard is to analyze and continuously improve processes so that the process optimum can be achieved. In this course, the requirements for (business) processes are considered from the point of view of the presentation standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2015, independent of the industry.

In this seminar, you will learn and apply the necessary process management techniques for recording, evaluating and controlling processes. Building on these foundation courses, strategies for process improvement, such as CIP, 3 Mu or 5 S are dealt with. The theoretical foundation courses are supplemented by numerous case studies and the use of software, for example Minitab as evaluation and analysis software. Find out how you can use the learned techniques and tools for process optimization to solve your tasks in the company.

Three questions for your lecturer, Prof. Markus K. Lake:

Why is continuing education on the subject of process optimization currently of interest to many professionals?
Business processes often consist of a large number of interlinked and interrelated individual processes. An essential task of process owners and all those involved in the process is to analyze processes, find optimization potential and implement it in order to sustainably improve process performance. In the course of the reorientation of the quality standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2015, the systematic process analysis, the quantitative process evaluation and the continuous further development of processes represent essential standard requirements.

What are you particularly looking forward to in this university certificate course?
I'm looking forward to working with professionally experienced participants on the topics of quality management and process management on the basis of existing regulations, e.g. DIN EN ISO 9001:2015, using practical examples and getting new impetus for my course "Quality Management".

And what can the participants look forward to?
The participants can look forward to an exciting and practical excursion into the world of quality and process management and they will get to know and apply numerous tools and techniques.
