Aim and content of the studies

Why a Master's in Business Informatics?

What can you expect from your studies?

On the Master's degree programme, you will acquire all the qualifications that are relevant for a management or management-related position in the IT sector. The programme content is clearly geared towards a subsequent entry into the business world. University teachers / lecturers with practical experience will provide you with the necessary theoretical tools, but above all with practical application knowledge.

About the Master's programme: In the first two semesters, you will first acquire relevant skills in areas related to business informatics: IT Management, Digital Design, Entrepreneurship, Advanced Software Development and Software Architecture. You will also acquire subject-related skills in the areas of project management, empirical methods and IT and society. 

In the third semester, you will acquire relevant knowledge in the fields of cybercrime, leadership skills and methods of business and IT consulting in interdisciplinary modules. In the third semester, you will also carry out a research project that examines a practical problem in business informatics. The university teachers / lecturers will act as your coaches and guide you.

In the fourth semester, you will devote yourself entirely to your Master's thesis and the Master's oral examination. Your final step on the way to a degree in Business Informatics at The Hochschule Niederrhein. As a graduate of the Master's in Information Systems, you will then be ready for professional practice.

Study requirements

For the Master's degree in Business Information Systems, you need a relevant Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).

You have a relevant Bachelor's degree if you have earned at least 30 credit points in Business Administration and 30 credit points in Computer Science.
