Field report
The Taxation and Auditing Degree programme at HSNR is particularly suitable for people who already know at the time of commencement of studies that they would like to work in tax consultancy or auditing. Due to the specialization of the Degree programme, tax knowledge is developed in the best possible way during the four years. In this respect, a BSWD student differs from a business administration student, for example, who can choose at most one tax specialisation. Finally, it should be emphasized that the purely tax modules in particular were supervised by very good university teachers / lecturers.

Very specific Degree programme
A very good Degree programme for tax law. An additional master for advanced course is necessary at all. For students who want to fixate on tax law, the Degree programme is optimal. For students who want to look at several areas, rather in the BWL direction to get more superficial modules. In addition, very good professors.

Foundation stone for tax talent
The bachelor's program at the Hochschule Niederrhein (taxes and auditing, dual) has remained an extremely positive memory for me. The combination of business administration, corporate law and tax law modules offered enables the graduates to solve complex tax law issues. The lectures in the area of national income tax law are particularly noteworthy, as they regularly provided an "aha effect". In addition, the manageable course size usually ensures the possibility to ask questions during the courses. In my view, the studies are particularly suitable for (prospective) tax clerks or people with initial practical experience in consulting companies, although a tax background is by no means required. After completing the studies, it is possible to deepen the acquired knowledge by taking a master's degree and/or preparing for the tax advisor exam.

Foundation of a career
At HSNR you get a "toolbox" that you can use in all phases of your professional life. I would recommend the university at any time and have noticed, especially in the context of my StB preparation, how helpful some university teachers / lecturers have been for me. Despite the very demanding studies, I always felt well looked after at HSNR. I was particularly impressed by HSNR's special focus on tax and auditing subjects. The "specialization" of the Degree programme definitely sets it apart from other business degree programmes (at other universities) and prepares you wonderfully for further career steps in the field of taxation/WP.

With the MBA to the next career step
The career-integrated MBA program "Leadership & Management" with the degree "MBA - Master of Business Administration" met my expectations perfectly and I liked it very much. The practical orientation and implementation of state-of-the-art teaching methods, as well as the selection of top university teachers / lecturers from practice and high-ranking regional business and industrial companies, have had a very positive impact on the studies. The hybrid form of teaching, consisting of online and classroom lectures, the individual approach to the needs and wishes of the students and the mix of written examinations, oral presentations, assignments and presentations have made it easy for us students to find a balance between studies, work and family and to enjoy the career-integrated studies.

For me personally, the MBA studies "Leadership & Management" were an important piece of the puzzle to achieve the next hoped-for career step to a managing director position with market area management and corresponding leadership responsibility at my current employer. This has fulfilled my next professional goal and desire and I am very much looking forward to the new challenges. In addition, I have found many exciting contacts within the cohort of our year for regular exchange as well as new friendships. This is another distinction of the individual and personal studies at the Hochschule Niederrhein.

Practice and theory under one roof
Looking back on my experience during the dual studies at the Hochschule Niederrhein, during which I completed an apprenticeship as a tax specialist in parallel, I would like to share my extremely positive assessment. The combination of theoretical knowledge I acquired during the studies and the practical application I gained through the apprenticeship as a tax specialist enabled me to be successful in both my academic and professional careers. The Hochschule Niederrhein has proven to be an excellent choice to achieve my academic goals while gaining valuable professional experience.

A particular highlight of my studies at the Hochschule Niederrhein was the excellent Chair of Taxation. The professors and lecturers were (and still are) experts in their field and always responsive to students' questions and concerns. Their passion for the subject and their ability to communicate complex tax issues in an understandable and application-oriented manner increased my interest and understanding of the field of taxation enormously. The close link between theory and practice during the dual studies was another big plus. The combination of studies and apprenticeship allowed me to apply my acquired knowledge directly in real work environments. These experiences deepened my understanding of the industry and showed me how to successfully apply my theoretical knowledge in practical applications. Thanks to the excellent preparation and solid foundation courses I acquired during my studies and apprenticeship at the Hochschule Niederrhein, I was well equipped to successfully pass the tax consultant exam after completing my degree.

The close cooperation with companies and the strong practical orientation of the studies helped to ensure that I was ideally prepared for a successful start to my professional life and the subsequent tax consultant examination. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my decision at the time to pursue dual studies at the Hochschule Niederrhein. The combination of high-quality teaching education, especially in the area of taxation, the close integration of theory and practice, and the excellent conditions for passing the tax advisor exam made my studies an enriching and successful experience that will benefit me in my professional life. Looking back, I can highly recommend The Hochschule Niederrhein and the dual studies there.
