The study regulations provide for a practical study semester as an alternative to a study semester abroad. The internship semester abroad offers students the opportunity to apply their experience in a new social environment, to expand their language skills, to broaden their horizons and to gain a professional and personal advantage.
The International Office of the university as well as the contact person of the Faculty of Design are available for help and advice. Nevertheless, students usually have to look for an internship themselves. Further information on internship semester abroad is available from the International Office or directly from the DAAD.
Financial
Several scholarship programs are also available to students during an internship semester abroad. The Hochschule Niederrhein, for example, offers funding for study-related internships in several European countries within the framework of the Erasmus program. The internship must last at least 3 to a maximum of 12 months within an academic year and may not be interrupted or completed at different companies. Unfortunately, the preparation of a Bachelor's thesis in a company is not eligible for funding.
