The studies are structured in modules. It comprises a total of 31 modules with defined objectives and subject areas. Each module or sub-module concludes with an examination after one or two semesters. In addition, a twelve-week practical phase is compulsory for students in the last semester.
In full-time studies, lectures are held daily. In part-time studies, students attend the university two days a week, with the remaining three days available for pursuing a subject-specific occupation, vocational training in the field of information technology, e.g. as an IT specialist for systems engineering, or for family commitments, e.g. raising children or caring for relatives.
In the networked Health Care sector, we qualify students for interdisciplinary collaboration and impart knowledge ranging from medical foundation courses and management to the programming and application of eHealth applications. Through our practice-oriented teaching education, our students acquire skills such as software development, project management and process analysis. Building on this, students learn to apply this knowledge methodically and systematically to practical problems with a practical emphasis / orientation. For this purpose, the basic knowledge relevant to the professional field is taught, taking into account interprofessional competencies.
After completing the degree, you will be able to solve problems in your professional life using scientifically based methods. In IT departments or IT companies, you will implement and manage IT projects with your interface knowledge of IT, medicine and business administration and be a sought-after employee.
Alternatively, you can also pursue consecutive studies towards a Master of Science in Health Care at the Hochschule Niederrhein or another master's degree program.
