These students were nominated for the program by their Chair of the Examinations Board and deans on the basis of their above-average academic achievements, or they applied on their own initiative.
Service learning, an innovative teaching education method, is the specialisation of the program. Students work in heterogeneous and interdisciplinary teams on real societal needs and challenges and implement projects that serve the common good. The program works closely with partners from the social, educational, environmental, human rights and civil rights sectors, who support the teams in terms of content. This year's partners are BUND Krefeld, Studenten bilden Schüler e.V., Initiative Krefeld 2030+, Soroptimisten e.V. and Queers an der Niers. The following projects are being developed for them: Conception of a cross-university idea competition for sustainable innovations, measures to attract students for tutoring of disadvantaged students* , a new utilization concept for empty spaces in Krefeld, an action for International Women's Day or a café for the queer community in MG.
On Monday, February 27, the students started the intensive two project weeks with a design thinking workshop in which they worked out their projects. This workshop was led and moderated by the HNX team.
The project results will be presented on 30.03.2023, 16-19 clock at the Krefeld South Campus, J E17. All interested parties are cordially invited to attend, registration via honour(at)hs-niederrhein.de.
The HONOUR scholarship program is planned and implemented by the HNX team and contact point for start-ups and entrepreneurship.
