Prof. Dr. Kristina Rosenthal

Hochschule Niederrhein. Your way.
Business Informatics, esp. Data Engineering

Kristina Rosenthal is Professor of Business Informatics, esp. Data Engineering, at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, Hochschule Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences since 2023. She was previously a postdoctoral researcher at the FernUniversität in Hagen. She completed her doctorate at the University of Passau in 2015 and received her diploma in mathematics from TU Dortmund University in 2010. Her research evolves around the topics of Information Systems development – with a focus on (data) modeling – and Business Process Management. Her research results have been published in scientific journals, e.g. Business & Information Systems Engineering (BISE) and Software and Systems Modeling (SoSyM), and presented at conferences, e.g. International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and International Conference on Conceptual Modeling (ER). Furthermore, she is active in the German Informatics Society (Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V.), involved in the organization of scientific conferences (e.g. as Track Chair at the Internationale Tagung Wirtschaftsinformatik) and acts as a reviewer for journals and conferences (e.g. BISE, SoSyM, Electronic Markets).

The teaching portfolio covers various topics of Business Informatics, in particular Information Systems development with a focus on modeling, Business Process Management and Artificial Intelligence. Current courses can be found in the course catalog of Hochschule Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences.

Bachelor and Master theses are supervised in the field of Business Informatics, including topics in the areas of Information Systems development, data modeling, Business Process Management and Artificial Intelligence. If you are interested, please get in contact via e-mail.
