Building on and complementing the specialized school education (with the respective specialization), the students are prepared to apply and further develop application-related contents and methods from the fields of evidence-based nursing, nursing and Health Sciences. For this purpose, the specialized knowledge relevant to the occupational field is taught and special emphasis is placed on advanced controlling, counseling and healing competencies.
The Degree programme qualifies students to work directly with people of all ages who require nursing care in various Health Care facilities. The focus here is on further developing the quality of nursing care on the basis of evidence and on developing practical and interdisciplinary solutions to problems and critically questioning them. Students will gain the competence to participate in quantitative and qualitative studies and evaluations. This requires the confident use and mastery of scientific instruments and methods for the implementation of complex nursing interventions. With the Master's degree (Master's degree programme in planning), students should gain the independence and autonomy to do this.
More and more facilities are currently creating positions for this target group in order to improve the quality of care in their own facilities. These are, for example, Support Offices at the Nursing Directorate as nursing experts or staff positions in nursing quality development.

An integrating apprenticeship can only be completed in a state-recognized technical school with a model curriculum that trains in cooperation with The Hochschule Niederrhein. From the apprenticeship 85 ECTS are recognized for the studies.
