Introducing the faculties

Are you interested in studying at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics?

Then you will find information about our programmes and everything you need to know about starting your studies with us here. You can also gain an initial insight into our current degree programmes and projects with our partners from research and industry.

With well over 3,000 students, our Faculty of Business Administration and Economics is the largest faculty at The Hochschule Niederrhein. We are located on the campus in Mönchengladbach. The faculty currently employs over 50 professors, one senior lecturer, six teachers for special purposes and around 20 academic and non-academic staff. We also have several institutes and competence centres and more than 80 contract lecturers from business and industry are involved in teaching education.

We also attach great importance to personalised support for our prospective students even before they begin their studies. Good counselling is in both our interests: If you feel that you are in good hands, you will enjoy studying with us and become a successful graduate of our university!

If required, please take the opportunity and let us advise you. In addition to the course-related counselling appointments, which you can find on the respective degree programme page, our faculties also offer support for first-year students. As part of this general advice for first-year students, you will receive tips and tricks for a successful application, information on the individual degree programmes and can ask any questions you may have about starting your studies.

Programmes

Our application-oriented degree programmes combine the latest scientific findings with the requirements of the business world. We rely on action-orientated forms of teaching and project assignments in cooperation with industry, thus ensuring a practical emphasis / orientation.

In addition to traditional full-time studies, we also offer other study formats such as career-integrated studies, part-time studies and study-integrated apprenticeships. We also offer a triple degree programme, courses with a double degree, courses taught in English and certificate courses.

Online application
Online application

Online applications are generally submitted via the university's application portal. For degree programmes without admission restrictions (no NC), you can proceed with registration directly after submitting your application.

For degree programmes with restricted admission (NC), the application is followed by the allocation procedure. Registration is only possible once you have been admitted to a degree programme and have received an offer of admission. The allocation is done via hochschulstart.de (application there is also necessary).

First year students
Information for first-year students

During the induction week, our first-year students receive all the information they need about starting their studies and a presentation of all the IT tools that are relevant to their studies. Other advisory services, the library, etc. are also introduced.

Before the induction week, preliminary courses in English and maths are held for all enrolled first-year students in our faculty.

Information about the city of Mönchengladbach and the leisure activities you can do around the campus and the region can be found on the website of the city of Mönchengladbach or on CheckMG (especially for younger students).

Would you like to broaden your horizons, make new friends around the world, immerse yourself in a different culture and develop your language skills? We accompany and support you on your personal stay abroad.

Both semesters abroad and internships abroad are possible. Our diverse network offers you the opportunity to experience a well-organised and funded stay abroad at partner universities.
