Which time model suits me?

We offer you maximum flexibility with various study models:

Full-time

On the full-time degree programme, you will complete your studies in six semesters and receive a total of 180 ECTS credits. In the first semesters, you will acquire a solid foundation in business administration in areas such as accounting, controlling and marketing. From the fourth semester onwards, you have the opportunity to tailor your studies to your interests by choosing two individual specialisations from up to 14 different areas. In addition, an internship semester provides valuable insights into the corporate world. Alternatively, you can also spend a semester abroad to gain international experience and expand your intercultural skills. The courses take place primarily during the week, but you also have the opportunity to attend courses at the weekend.

Part-time / part-time

If you would like to combine your studies with work or other commitments, the part-time or part-time degree programme is an option. This study option extends over eight semesters and also comprises 180 ECTS credits. The content focus is identical to that of the full-time programme, but the time structure is more flexible. Courses take place either during the week or at the weekend, allowing you to adapt your studies to suit your personal life situation. The part-time version emphasises self-study so that you can largely determine your own learning pace.

Part-time/accompanying training

Studying with a commercial apprenticeship
If you would like to combine your studies with a commercial apprenticeship (e.g. as an industrial clerk, wholesale and foreign trade clerk, for office management or freight forwarding), the part-time or apprenticeship-accompanying degree programme is an option. This study option extends over eight semesters and also comprises 180 ECTS credits. The content focus is identical to that of the full-time programme, but the time structure is more flexible. Courses take place either during the week or at the weekend, so that you can optimally adapt your studies to your training situation. The degree programme is aimed at practice-oriented students who are looking for a wide-ranging course of study that will enable them to take on specialist and management tasks in a wide variety of business administration fields and at the same time provide training in one of the associated training occupations.

Study-integrated training NRW
Another option is the "Study-integrated training NRW" (SiA-NRW). Training as an industrial clerk at the Volksgartenstraße Vocational College for Business and Administration in Mönchengladbach and the simultaneous efficient and close integration with a degree course at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences offers you the best opportunities to realise your professional dream. The learning centres are closely coordinated and linked not only in terms of location, but also in terms of the credits to be earned. SiA-NRW is a vocational training concept in which the three learning locations - company, vocational college and university - are systematically linked for the first time. This study programme extends over eight semesters and also comprises 180 ECTS points. You can also find more information here: https://bkvgs.de/projekte-und-aktivitaeten/sia/

You will learn the central business management functions in areas such as marketing, sales, HR management and (risk) controlling and gain the specialist knowledge you need to apply economic instruments effectively in the financial sector.

In addition, the programme is ideal for already trained (bank) clerks who want to gain further qualifications while working and specifically expand their business knowledge.

After completing this specialisation, you will have a wide range of career opportunities in the banking and finance sector - be it in private or corporate banking, risk management, investment consulting or international finance.
